The Clinical Operations Committee encourages the improvement of Section productivity goals by analyzing routine data, piloting improvement projects, and prioritizing and improving overall clinical operation concerns. Data areas discussed include distribution of clinical work per FTE by shift type, average daily census by service type, capacity by shift/service type, RVU productivity per shift type and payment trends. Reoccurring goals during the monthly meetings include managing clinical expansion, offering a stable clinical environment for sustained recruitment and retention, partner with hospital administration in their efforts involving utilization management and patient satisfaction, maintain productivity, measure and monitor QI metrics specific for hospital medicine, maximize clinical revenue by maintaining proper documentation and best practices in billing and much more.
