The Professional Development Committee of the Section of Hospital Medicine focuses on projects that help advance the professional growth and recognition of our hospitalists in multiple arenas. The committee coordinates our robust Hospital Medicine Continuing Medical Education program. The Professional Development Committee has played an integral role in the development of Hospital Medicine section-wide retreats, orientation and onboarding programs. The committee works to engage hospitalists in other section committees and in relevant national organizations particularly the Society of Hospital Medicine. The committee supports faculty development programs such as the Passport to Clinical Teaching. Our primary focus is helping hospitalists within the section develop robust and meaningful careers in the field.
