Quality Improvement Committee

Quality Initiative Committee

Within the Section of Hospital Medicine, there are multiple committees made up of members from all parts of the Section, including physicians, advanced practice providers, research and administrative personnel.  Membership on the committee is welcome to anyone and is completely voluntary. Lead by Dr. Matthew Cerasale, the QI Committee meets on a monthly basis with a standing agenda to review quality metrics and check in with ongoing projects.  Each year, the committee selects at least one issue to be its primary focus.  The project is led by a group of volunteers within the committee and is supported by the chair.  A list of prior QI Committee projects, plus a few others, are listed on the Initiatives page.  The committee will also coordinate with other Section committees on projects and data reviews, such as Clinical Operations, Informatics, and Diversity & Inclusion.  When a project or topic requires additional information, individuals from elsewhere in the hospital are invited to attend and participate in discussions.  The committee is always welcoming new members, regardless of QI experience, including those new to the Section.
